K-9 Fundraiser

08/17/2023

The Knox County Sheriff's Office K9 program has experienced recent tragedies, unforeseen financial hardships and setbacks.  K9 Juri unexpectedly and suddenly passed from a medical incident in May.  The passing of K9 Juri has left a current vacancy for a K9.

The Knox County Sheriff's Office currently has one working K9, Brenna.  K9 Brenna has been recently diagnosed with a medical condition that has temporarily taken her out of service several times over the past few months and has required her to have extensive treatment at the University of Illinois Animal Medical Facility.

Our Sheriff, being an experienced K9 handler and trainer himself, has a vision to see the effectiveness of the K9 program grow.  But with outdated K9 vehicles and equipment, unexpected medical issues, and the sudden loss of a K9; these tragic events have put a hardship on the Knox County Sheriff's Office that cannot be budgeted for.

The Knox County Sheriff's Office is dedicated to serving and protecting the citizens of Knox County.  The K9's are used daily to search for a multitude of illegal drugs and contraband in our communities, locate fleeing suspects, locate children or elderly that are reported missing, locate hidden evidence and conduct community outreach programs to build a bond with all members of our community.

The Knox County Sheriff's Office is seeking donations to help with the expenses of K9 Brenna.  The funds will also be used to purchase a new K9, training for the K9 Team, a vehicle, and equipment needed for the team to successfully fight against illegal drugs and violent crimes in our community.  In appreciation, the Knox County Sheriff's Office will be presenting their generous donors with a Knox County Sheriff's Office K-9 Sponsor decal to display with pride.

Donations can be made to the Knox County Sheriff's Office K-9 Program through our online GoFundMe page (Knox County Sheriff's Office K9 Fundraiser) or mailed to 152 S. Kellogg St. Galesburg, IL 61401.  Sponsors will be sent a receipt of donation and a K-9 Sponsor sticker via mail once their donation is received.

The Knox County Sheriff's Office thanks you for your assistance in providing our residents and visitors with effective and efficient policing services that enhance their quality of life and keep Knox County a great place to live, work, and visit.
