Man falls through ice while ice fishing

On February 5, 2017 at approx. 2:18 P.M. Knox County Sheriff's Deputies responded to 1572 Cottonwood Drive/Gamber Cove, Dahinda, Illinois for a person having fallen through the ice while ice fishing and was still submerged.  It was determined two individuals were ice fishing and were preparing to leave when one fell through the ice.  The second individual attempted to rescue the one in the water when the ice broke, causing the second subject to be in the water.  The second subject was able to get out of the water.  At approx. 5:06 P.M., the body was recovered by emergency personnel in approx. sixteen feet of water in the same general area, which the victim had fallen in.  The victim is identified as Victor ROBB, DOB: 12/15/1960 from Washington, Illinois.  Knox County Coroner Mark Thomas, pronounced ROBB deceased at the scene at approx. 5:48 P.M.
