The Knox County Sheriff's Department is assisting the Warren County Sheriff's Office investigating multiple burglaries in Warren County:

The Warren County Sheriff's Office is investigation a string of burglaries which have occurred since the beginning of the year.

January 23rd: A resident of Little York reported $700.00 in cash stolen.

January 28th: A residence in rural NE Warren County was burglarized with the loss of jewelry and cash.

February 1st:  Two separate burglaries in rural Roseville were reported.  In the first burglary a laptop computer, TV, VCR and jewelry were reported stolen.  In the second burglary on this day, a TV, tools a rifle and a van were taken.  The van was later recovered in Monmouth.

March 1st:  A burglary in rural Monmouth was reported with the loss of jewelry, a camera, two pistols and coins.

March 17th:  A rural Monmouth residence was burglarized with the loss of jewelry,

March 21st:  A rural Cameron residence was burglarized with the loss of long guns, TV, gaming system, cameras, a cell phone and coins.

March 23rd:  A rural Monmouth residence was burglarized with the loss of handguns and tools.

A total loss for all the burglaries is not available but is estimated at being over several thousand dollars.
Witnesses reported a suspicious person in the area of one of the burglaries.  This person was reported as being a white female, 20-30 years old.  She was approximately 5'07" tall, weighing approximately 130 pounds.  A composite sketch of this person conducted with the assistance of the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms (BATF).

Witnesses also reported a suspicious vehice in the area of the burlgaries.  This vehicle is described as an older model, dark colored Chevrolet Tahoe or Blazer.

It is believed that these burglaries took place during daylight hours while the occupants were gone.  The burglar(s) forced entry into the homes through an exterior door.

These cases are still under investigation with the assistance of the Illinois State Police Crime Scene Services bureau, the BATF and liaison with other Law Enforcement Agencies.
